Nature Elements

It is true that some elements can only exist in nature in two or more atoms?
For example, I think O can only exist as a molocule diatomic. Any hlep would be appreciated.
Indeed, this has to do with the atomic orbital structure. Atoms try to fill their electron shell outermost electrons. All atoms that release energy when they accept an electron (this energy is called electron affinity) and absorb energy when an electron free (called the ionization potential). The atoms that the electrons are just filling their shell past (such as O, F, Cl, and most of the group III-VIIA of the periodic table) "Do anything" to fill this last layer, and will release a large amount of energy in the form diatomic (O2). Thus, two atoms of the single are not very stable time, they would immediately react to form O2, which is much more stable. What is so unstable that even react with O2 to form O3, if you can not find another oxygen atom. The fact that some atoms "There are only" in the form diatomic in nature does not mean it impossible to isolate one atom of oxygen. If you bombard atoms of O2 with the light that has a higher energy than the bond, you will break it. And for a short period of time, you have to single O atoms which will react very quickly with the other, or with another molecule to achieve stability;. I hope that helps good luck with your studies.
